New ways you can support DGS!

YOU CAN SUPPORT DGS:

Target--Take Charge of Education Program: We've discovered a terrific way to raise funds for our school. It's super-easy, and you do not need to open a new Target Credit Card. DGS will receive a percentage of the amount of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target. Just visit www.target.com/tcoe, or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school. Big thanks to those who are already doing their part to make a great school even better.

* Find out how much money our school has already received at www.target.com/tcoe.

* Grandparents, alumni, neighbors and friends can take part, too.

* Denver Green School ID is 151819

Box Tops: DGS is now set up to collect Box Tops for education. Box top coupons can be found on a variety of items such as: Ziploc, Juicy Juice, Kleenex, Betty Crocker, General Mills, and more. You can help earn money for our school by collecting Box tops and turning them into the office. You can also shop online through the BTFE website, www.boxtops4education.com

Whole Foods Bag Donation program: When customers bring in their own bags, they can either take 10 cents off their bill or give 10 cents to a local school. DGS has been selected for the Oct-Dec quarter at the Cherry Creek Whole Foods on Colorado Blvd. This is an easy way for DGS to raise money. Correction: Earlier printed version stated Glendale Whole Foods, it is actually the Cherry Creek Whole Foods.

Feed the Teachers: The DGS PTA would like your help to provide the teaching staff with a warm healthy meal during the long days of parent teacher conferences. Please sign up at the following link if you are able to bring a dish or help with set up/clean up on:

DGS News

The DGS blog is now up and running! So hard to believe we are now heading into the ninth week of school.

The first demonstration night was a blast, this was a great way for our students to get to showcase what they do. Field trips are happening throughout the school. First Grade has been to Bluff Lake, Sixth grade went to test water quality of the Platt River, Second graders are headed to Miller Farms.

Parent Teacher conferences are coming up on October 26th and 27th. We are in the process of forming a great parent/community organization. The DGS PTA/PTO is meeting on a monthly basis, we aren't your typical parent teacher collaboration. There are committees focused on sustainability, community building, Volunteers, in addition to fund-raising. Parents are meeting for coffee on the playground every other Thursday morning, this has been going great, a really informal time for parents to get to talk, ask questions, and bounce ideas off each other.

DGS is also up and running on facebook, check us out there. We also have a google calendar linked under new and events on the home page, you can find any upcoming events there.
